UK flatpack offer changes hands

Following a recent review of its UK operations, Danish manufacturer Tvilum has opted to close Steens' UK office, and to reassign all DHD operations to its partner Furniture To Go (FTG).

Customers receiving direct full-load deliveries from Denmark will be dealt with by Tvilum's sales support team in Farvang, Denmark, while all DHD customers will be handled by FTG in Portsmouth, where all products will be stocked for same-day dispatch.

The Steens UK office is no longer accepting orders, but orders can now be placed with FTG for next-day delivery.

Tvilum acquired fellow RTA specialist Steens Furniture in May last year. Both businesses have long been strong players in the global RTA furniture market and have shown significant growth as separate companies.

Tvilum has enjoyed a successful partnership with FTG, building a business model based on long-term sustainability.

“The addition of the Steens portfolio into Tvilum enables us to build on our supply offering," says FTG's director of sales and operations, Paul Sheldon. "Tried-and-tested ranges like Steens for Kids, Baroque, Tromso and Sandringham, to name a few – all under the FTG one-stop-shop umbrella.”

Furniture To Go boasts anongoing product development programme together with its partner factories, high stock levels for next-day delivery, marketing support and a strong service proposition. The business currently offers more than 1200 SKUs for same-day dispatch.
