Dreams has appointed Paul Solly (pictured) as its new CCO, and Michael Dingwall as director of production.
Paul brings over 20 years of experience in the retail sector and will be responsible for the retailer's buying, merchandising, ecommerce and technical and ethical teams.
Paul joins Dreams from The Fragrance Shop, where he spent nearly two years as CCO. Prior to this, he worked for Matalan as its trading director, and at Tesco as the category director of home and furniture. He started his career at Marks & Spencer, where he spent 23 years across various roles, both in-store and in merchandising, including as head of merchandising for the retailer’s home and furniture department.
Paul will work closely with Dreams’ CEO, Jonathan Hirst, who previously held the role.
Jonathan says: “I’m delighted to bring Paul on board as our new CCO. As Dreams enters an exciting new phase of growth, Paul will be a great addition to our executive team. He brings a wealth of experience from some of the country’s finest retailers, and will no doubt add huge value to the business as we continue to grow.”
Paul comments: “This is an exciting time for Dreams and I’m thrilled to be joining such an impressive business and executive team. I have always admired Dreams and its long-held reputation as one of the country’s leading bed experts. I look forward to working with Jonathan and the team to continue Dreams’ success.”
Michael Dingwall, Dreams’ new director of production, will be responsible for the bed factory in Oldbury, West Midlands, and will undertake a review of all production processes. Michael has over 30 years’ experience in the bed industry, having worked for both Silentnight and Harrison Spinks. For the past three years, he has been the production director for Dams Furniture in Liverpool, where he oversaw all manufacturing operations.
Jonathan says: “We’re excited to welcome Michael to lead our production team, who will take over from Mick Hargreaves who, after 12 years with us, has now decided to retire. Michael has the skills and experience to take our production facility to another level and we look forward to supporting him on what will be an exciting journey.”
Michael adds: “Production is at the heart of the Dreams operation, so it’s a real honour to lead such an incredible team. I can’t wait to return to the world of bed manufacturing, working closely with the Oldbury team to ensure that Dreams continues to produce high-quality beds that we know our customers love.”
