Those with technical questions about furniture can visit FIRA on stand C55 in Hall 5 at the January Furniture Show and ask a team of industry experts.
Furniture flammability, ergonomics, sustainability and product testing specialists will be at the FIRA stand to discuss topics in detail. Technical experts will be available to take enquiries throughout the show, but each day will focus on a different area:
Sunday 24th January – Flammability
Flammability expert and FIRA’s general manager, Phil Reynolds, will be on the stand and available to answer questions.
Monday 25th January – Ergonomics
FIRA’s ergonomics team and chief ergonomist, Levent Çaglar, will be on the stand to answer questions and launch a new toolkit for designers of furniture for the home and specialist furniture for elderly and bariatric users.
Ergonomics seminar - those interested in ergonomics for domestic furniture can attend one of two free seminars on Monday 25th January at either 11am or 2:30pm.
Tuesday 26th January – Sustainability and product testing
Furniture sustainability expert, Dr Asli Tamer Vestlund, will be on the stand to discuss sustainability and environmental regulations that affect the industry.
Sustainability seminar - Those part of the furniture supply chain are probably already aware of the EU Timber Regulation, which prohibits the placing of illegally harvested timber and products on the EU market. It establishes new legal obligations and many businesses still need further clarification to understand how the Regulation directly relates to them. Two free seminars are taking place on Tuesday 26th January at 11am and 3pm.
Product testing experts will also be on the stand to answer questions.
Wednesday 27th January - Product testing
Ensure your products are safe, legal and fit for purpose through product testing.
