As well as going virtual due to the cancellation of this year's Bed Show, this year's annual NBF bed industry awards are being sponsored for the first time.
NBF executive director Jessica Alexander says: “The show itself may have been cancelled because of the coronavirus pandemic but we were determined that the awards themselves should go ahead – but needed the support of sponsors to really make the new format work.
“Within days of mooting the idea, high-profile companies from across the industry had quickly stepped up to put their name to the new-look awards, and we’re delighted at the level and swiftness of their response.”
The sponsors are as follows: Bed of the Year – John Cotton Non-Wovens; Accessory Product of the Year – Bekaert Deslee; Component Product or Machinery of the Year – CPS Group; Small Bed Retailer of the Year – Hypnos; Large Bed Retailer of the Year – Sleepeezee; Online Bed Retailer of the Year – The Vita Group; Sustainability Award – Zero Waste Scotland; and Covid-19 Community Champion – Furniture Village.
Now in their 11th year, the awards have opened for entry, with the deadline for submissions being 5pm Friday 16th October. After being selected by a panel including Furniture News' Paul Farley, the winners will be announced in a live virtual ceremony on 26th November.
