Bedmaker joins The Furniture Makers’ Company

The Furniture Makers’ Company has welcomed another leading business in the sector to its ranks as a corporate member.

Sleepeezee, one of the best-known bed manufacturers in the world, has been handcrafting pocket spring mattresses in the UK since 1924.

Based in Rochester, Kent, Sleepeezee has also been a Royal Warrant holder for over 30 years, demonstrating its quality and service. MD Steve Warren comments: “Sleepeezee is thrilled to join The Furniture Makers’ Company as a corporate member. With a century-long tradition of crafting beds and mattresses by hand, we bring extensive expertise to the furniture industry and take immense pride in our manufacturing process.

“We are proud to support the industry’s charity and look forward to participating in various events to raise awareness amongst our colleagues and, in particular, to develop a younger generation who can progress in this wonderful industry.”

Sleepeezee was formally welcomed as a corporate member at an admission ceremony at Furniture Makers’ Hall, London, this month.

David Miller (commercial director), David Morris (purchasing director) and Paul Thomas (manufacturing manager) were admitted as corporate liverymen, and personally welcomed by the master of The Furniture Makers’ Company, Amanda Waring.

Amanda says: “We are pleased to welcome such a well-known and quality brand as Sleepeezee as a corporate member – the company epitomises the best of UK manufacturing as well as having a long heritage supporting worthy causes. It is vital that we continue to bring together the leading lights with the furniture and furnishings industry, not only to share their expertise and network, but also to demonstrate their commitment to giving back to the sector by supporting our charitable endeavours.”
