Bensons for Beds has turned a good night’s sleep for thousands of customers into £34,810 to support England and Wales mental health charity, Mind.
The money was raised between 1st November and 31st January through a £10 donation by Bensons for each sale of its Rollo by Slumberland rolled-up mattress.
The North West saw the largest amount raised, at £3190, followed by Scotland at £2650, the South West at £2560 and the South East at £2220.
Launched in August, the collection of four Rollo mattresses has been Benson’s most successful new product launch.
Bensons' COO Joe Wykes says: “The pandemic has highlighted the importance of sleep for health and wellbeing, which illustrates why Mind is a natural charity partner for us. Each time we sell a Rollo by Slumberland mattress we not only give our customer a good night’s sleep, but we give a donation to Mind. Colleagues and customers will be delighted to see us supporting the amazing work done by Mind.”
Emma Ihsan, head of corporate partnerships at Mind, comments: “We’d like to say a big thank you to Bensons for Beds and its customers for helping to raise this money and donating to Mind. As we continue to deal with the mental health fall-out of the pandemic, we are especially grateful to anyone who is able to support Mind and help us make sure we can continue our vital work so that we can be there for everyone who needs us.”
Last year, Bensons donated more than £160,000 to Mind from donations generated by sales. Bensons also gifted national TV airtime to Mind for the charity’s emergency appeal, which helped to raise an additional £210,000 through public donations.
