BFM holds The People’s Pension seminar

BFM recently held a seminar, at Webs Training in Beeston, covering the new compulsory pension requirements. Teamed with Andrew Percy, from The People’s Pension, the seminar was designed to cover all the necessary information companies needed to help understand the new requirements.

The People’s Pension is a workplace pension scheme, provided by the B&CE – one of the most experienced providers of workplace pensions in the UK – which is designed for automatic enrolment. Automatic enrolment covers everyone from the age of 22 to State Pension Age who earns more than the personal income tax allowance – £9,440 in 2013/2014. Automatic enrolment began in 2012 with larger employers enrolling employees first and smaller companies are required to follow over the next 6 years.

Feedback from everyone in attendance at the seminar has been positive, with multiple companies saying they would consider signing up to The People’s Pension scheme. Craig Charlton from Meadowmead Ltd said that the presentation was "very professional and clear, and was a great introduction to what looks like a potential minefield without decent planning". This view was also expressed by Susan Johnson from Alston’s Upholstery, who said "Philip Grindrod (Operations Director) and I found the presentation clear, well delivered and easy to understand" and stated that "Andrew allowed The People’s Pension to speak for itself without overselling the product."

The BFM are holding another seminar, covering recent and imminent regulatory updates, on 16th October at the AIS offices in Solihull. Those interested in finding out more then should contact BFM directly.
