Big Shots set to raise around £28,500 for industry charity

Big Shots, The Furniture Makers’ Company’s annual clay pigeon shoot fundraiser, is set to raise £28,500 for the industry’s charity. A highlight in the furnishing industry calendar, Big Shots was held at EJ Churchill Shooting Ground in High Wycombe, Buckinghamshire this month.

A record equalling 38 teams took part in this year’s fundraiser, including Blum, Breasley, BrightHouse, Celtheath, Clarenco, Creo, DemandWare, Ercol, G Plan Upholstery, Furniture Village, Gainsborough Beds, Headlam, KI, Natuzzi, Peroda Furniture, Tempur and ViSpring.

Steve Jones from Clarenco was crowned Top Male Gun, while Claudia Cooper of Furniture Village claimed Top Female Gun. The Top Team Prize was awarded to the Haskins Hot Shots, while Headlam were named winners of the Four Man Flurry.

The Furniture Makers’ Company would like to thank main sponsor Furniture Village as well as Amazing Venues, B&Q, Blum, BrightHouse, Cabinet Maker, Celtheath, Colourfast World, Creo, Culinary Concepts, Davy’s, Fare of London, Greenlight Commerce, Haskins Retail Centre, Knoll, Millbrook Beds and Peroda Furniture.

It is through fundraisers like Big Shots that The Furniture Makers’ Company can achieve its aims of educating young talent for the future, driving excellence and helping people who have fallen on tough times.”

Charlie Harrison, director of marketing at Furniture Village and organiser of the event, adds: “I would like to say a huge thank you to everyone who attended and helped make Big Shots 2016 a complete success. Every year the fundraiser gets better and better and that’s down to the people who take part.”

Full results of the competition were: Top Gun (Male): Steve Jones (Clarenco); Top Gun (Female): Claudia Cooper (Furniture Village); Top Gun (Novice): Adrian Fawcett (Silentnight Group); Top Team: Haskins Hot Shots (Haskins Retail Centre); Runner Up Team: Headlam (Headlam Flooring Group); Bottom Team: Bird Busters (Furniture Village); and Four Man Flurry: Headlam (Headlam Flooring Group).
