Brussels Furniture Fair 2020 cancelled

The decision has been made to cancel this year's Brussels Furniture Fair, which was due to take place in November.

A statement from the show's organiser reads: "The health of our exhibitors, visitors and all our suppliers who contribute to the organisation of the fair must be our first priority. The course of the epidemic is unpredictable, and the health risk has become too great. As the fair organiser, it is upon us to respond to this responsibly. There was also a possibility that the fair may not have been able to go ahead at the last minute due to a fresh resurgence of the virus. That is why we are acting now and have decided that no furniture fair will take place in Brussels this year.

"It was apparent from a survey of our exhibitors and visitors that despite a great deal of enthusiasm for allowing the fair to go ahead, there is above all a huge sense of uncertainty. For every exhibitor, taking part in a trade fair unavoidably also means incurring costs. From developing new collections, to stand construction, catering and brochures. With the possibility that it will all have been for nothing. All these factors mean that we are no longer able to guarantee a successful edition."

Next year's edition is scheduled to take place from 7-10th November.
