Carpetright CEO to chair parent company as it acquires flooring distributor

Nestware Holdings Limited (NHL), part of Carpetright's owner Meditor Group, has completed the acquisition of Carpet & Flooring (Trading), one of the UK’s largest distributors of floorcovering products and accessories.

Carpet & Flooring was established in 1992 and operates from a head office in Redditch, currently serving customers from 11 sites across England, Scotland and Wales.

NHL has acquired the business from Endless LLP, the private equity company that has owned Carpet & Flooring since 2017. Lisa Tomlin, CEO of Carpet & Flooring, will continue to lead the business along with her existing management team. This addition will extend NHL’s reach into the contract and B2B flooring space.

This is the third recent addition for NHL, following the expansion of its digital footprint with the acquisition of FlooringSupplies.co.uk in September 2020 and the purchase of the business and assets of Contemporary Trade Flooring and Flooring Megastore.co.uk, which completed on 1st February 2021.

Talal Shakerchi, director of Meditor and founder of the Meditor Group, says: “We are delighted to extend our reach into the contract and B2B markets by bringing Carpet & Flooring, Contemporary Trade Flooring and Flooring Megastore into Meditor.”

Wilf Walsh, Carpetright's CEO for the past six years, has been appointed chairman of NHL, where he will be responsible for overseeing Carpetright, FlooringSupplies.co.uk, Flooring Megastore, Carpet & Flooring and any future acquisitions. He will continue to lead Carpetright until a suitable successor is found.

Wilf comments: “We’re pleased to be adding Carpet & Flooring into NHL and feel the business will sit well beside our current brands. I look forward to working with Lisa in my new role as chairman, and to continuing to strengthen the NHL stable with further acquisitions.”
