Carpetright owner purchases D2C flooring brand

NHL, part of Carpetright's owner Meditor, has purchased Keswick Flooring (TA FlooringSupplies.co.uk), one of the UK’s leading online D2C hard flooring brands.

Founded in 1986 by Adrian Lee, FlooringSupplies.co.uk is predominantly an ecommerce business but also trades from retail locations in Croydon, Edmonton, Lakeside and Thetford, and has grown significantly over the last 34 years.

Adrian will remain in the business until at least the end of December 2021, and FlooringSupplies.co.uk will continue to operate independently.

The acquisition will extend Meditor’s reach into the digital flooring space and strengthen its overall position in the flooring sector. Talal Shakerchi, director of Meditor and founder of the Meditor Group, says: “We are delighted to bring FlooringSupplies.co.uk into Meditor. It is a strong online D2C brand with significant growth potential. We are investing heavily in strengthening and growing Carpetright and aim to do the same with FlooringSupplies.co.uk. We will also continue to acquire other flooring businesses as opportunities arise.”

Wilf Walsh, CEO of Carpetright and director of NHL adds: “We are excited by the opportunity to work with the Flooring Supplies team and to support the growth of this successful brand. Whilst the businesses will operate independently, I’m confident that this acquisition will create mutually beneficial opportunities.”

Adrian Lee comments: “I believe Meditor is the ideal owner to ensure the business continues to grow successfully and I look forward to working with their team to help that happen.”
