Upholstery manufacturer Collins & Hayes Furniture has announced its succession plan for the Hastings, East Sussex-based company.
Following the planned departure of long-serving MD, Martin Huggins, the successor will be a very well-known industry figure, Matt O’Flynn, who joins from Meadowmead Furniture. Matt was previously the head of product development and sales at Meadowmead, which includes upholstery brand John Sankey, Henderson Russell and Barton Furniture.
Matt is currently vice chairman of the British Furniture Manufacturers' trade association (BFM) and also chairman of the Long Eaton Guild of Furniture Manufacturers.
Martin Huggins says: “Matt has an extensive knowledge of the furniture industry in the UK, and in particular fine upholstery. I know he will bring huge enthusiasm and design flair to the Collins & Hayes brand.”
Matt adds: “Leading a business with the heritage of Collins & Hayes is a fantastic opportunity and I am thrilled to be taking the helm.”
