Core Products announces return to UK manufacture

Flat-pack furniture specialist Core Products has announced that it is now offering three UK-manufactured ranges

"As one of the countries foremost suppliers of flat-packed furniture sourced from around the world, a move back to making furniture in Britain would be considered by many to be a brave move," says CEO Mike Rowley. "However, it is the constant work of visiting overseas suppliers, seeing first hand the changing costs associated with overseas manufacture and importation that has prompted this first step down the road to seeing our UK production base return.

"Most customers know us as a distributor, but it is only six years ago that we exited UK manufacturing, and the facilities are still there at our disposal – more importantly, the costs associated with importing fully-assembled product, as such, are almost evenly balanced.

"Initially there will be three completely brand new ranges which will utilise components sourced using our existing suppliers. The first range being a chunky farmhouse pine range in a rough-sawn effect – Forge is an eclectic combination of real wood and metal.

"We have dared to be different, and aimed to bring interesting designs to the market at affordable prices, which, combined with our new approach to production, aims to deliver products on demand to satisfy the need for quick, efficient deliveries."

Core Products, and a selection of its 'built in Britain" ranges, will be present at Interiors UK next week, on stand H41 in Hall 5.
