Creative director of Heal's moves on

On 23th September, Heal’s creative director Carmel Allen will step down and take up a non-executive creative director role on the Heal’s board. She will be moving to bespoke design specialist Linley as creative director in October.

Carmel joined Heal’s three years ago and has been instrumental in the change and evolution of the company, changing most of the products on offer and the customer proposition.

She won the Homes & Gardens Retailer of the Year award in 2015 and has led the refurbishment of Heal’s flagship store on Tottenham Court Road, as well as opening the new lighting showroom at Queens.

Will Hobhouse, chair of Heal’s, says: "Carmel has given us the inspiration and confidence we needed to make these changes and helped us all make it happen. I cannot thank her enough for her dedication and help on the journey, she can be justly proud of her part in the transformation of Heal’s, an organisation Ambrose Heal would be proud of.

Carmel adds: “I feel as passionate about Heal’s now as I’ve always done – more so in fact – and I will do all I can to ensure its growth and safeguard the core values and reputation that only 200 years of trading can bring. It’s a privilege to be part of that history."
