DFS has appointed Curry's CFO Bruce Marsh as an independent non-executive director, effective from 1st August.
Bruce will also be appointed as a member of the audit committee, remuneration committee and nomination committee from that date.
Chairman Steve Johnson says: "I am delighted that Bruce is joining the board. His significant retail experience as the CFO of Curry's is directly relevant to the DFS' strategy. His extensive experience leading finance teams, maintaining robust financial controls and improving planning and performance, for 'big-ticket' item retailers, will bring valuable experience and insight to the board. I look forward to working closely with Bruce over the next few years."
Bruce previously held senior positions with Tesco, Kingfisher and Dixons Retail.
DFS has also announced that independent non-executive director Loraine Martins has decided to step down from the board, with effect from the 31st July.
Steve comments: "I would like to thank Loraine for her valued contribution as a member of the DFS Furniture board of directors. Loraine has used her considerable experience in equality, diversity and inclusivity in supporting the company's people strategy. On behalf of the entire board and the company, I wish her the very best."
