Emma lines up new UK retail partnership amid strong results

European bed-in-a-box brand Emma Mattress has reported its largest ever UK revenues, drawing in £18m between 1st January and 30th June.

The co-founder of Emma Mattress, Benjamin Quiroga-Rivera, notes: “Emma’s +316% YoY growth is a testament to our profitable and sustainable business model, which focuses on product quality and clearly communicating product differentiation and function.

"We’re sceptical of adopting unsustainable strategies and believe we have found the right recipe for long-term success. Our strong H1 2019 results are further evidence that we’re on the right track and put Emma Mattress on course to solidify its position as the UK’s leading bed-in-box brand.”

Emma continues to grow in the European market. As of 19th July 2019, the company had sold over 400,000 mattresses "on a profitable basis" via its worldwide online channels. In the UK, Emma is expecting revenues of £45m for 2019 – YoY growth of +173%.

The brand is also shortly set to reveal a new partnership with a leading UK retailer, which will increase its retail presence to over 200 stores across the country. With partners such as DFS, Carpetright, Beterbed, El Corte Ingles and La Halle au Sommeil already on board, Emma will continue to grow its presence in brick-and-mortar stores throughout Europe.

“Emma Mattress continues to build an omnichannel presence that strengthens its position on the UK’s retail landscape," says Benjamin. "We are very excited to be soon announcing a strategic partnership with one of the UK’s most trusted retailers, and are looking forward to giving prospective customers a greater choice to interact with Emma Mattress and learn about our multi-award-winning products.”

The last 12 months have seen Emma enter the US and the Asian markets, while its upcoming launch in Brazil will be a European bed-in-a-box brand’s first foray into South America.
