ergomotion appoints ex-Sealy director to lead UK business

ergomotion, one of the world’s biggest adjustable bed base manufacturers, has appointed former Sealy UK sales and marketing director, Neil Robinson, to head up and grow the business in the UK.

Headquartered in Santa Barbara, California, the brand was established 14 years ago and has become one of the world's largest suppliers and business partners of adjustable and smart bed bases. By combining smart technology with ergonomically designed adjustable bed base solutions, ergomotion aims to achieve the right balance for body and mind.

Robinson, who spent 14 years at Sealy, will join the company as UK and Ireland sales manager, and will primarily be responsible for launching and growing the brand and securing retail distribution. He will also work to reposition and educate UK consumers around the benefits of adjustable bases, which are already well established and viewed as a premium lifestyle product across the US and Europe.

In his previous role, Neil oversaw the launches of the bestselling Sealy Hybrid and Activsleep ranges, and as such is well versed when it comes to successfully bringing new products to market.

He says: “Though well established around the globe, the adjustable base market here in the UK is undeveloped, and that presents a huge and exciting opportunity for retailers wanting to introduce innovation into their existing product offering. I’m looking forward to bringing such a forward-thinking brand to the UK and Irish markets, and I’m confident we will see a strong consumer demand for such products.”

ergomotion bases are designed for seamless integration with many of the world’s leading mattresses and with customers’ existing bed frames. With a touch of a button, an ergomotion bed base can transform into a variety of positions, catering to the user’s work, rest or relaxation needs. The brand’s pre-set positions are ergonomically correct, increasing blood flow and designed to provide restorative sleep. Ergomotion bases are also innovative, including features such as built-in massage functionality.
