Essex Interiors was the furniture supplier of choice for part of the set of 2013 Alan Partridge's movie, Alpha Papa.
On 7th August, this critically-acclaimed movie-first for the much-loved fictional TV and radio presenter, Alan Partridge, shot to the UK box office's number one spot in its opening weekend.
Filmed in Norfolk and South London, a number of scenes feature the infamous DJ working in his office, where he is surrounded by Essex Interiors' classically-styled antique reproduction furniture. In total, the company supplied a captain's chair, a Regency-style leather-top desk, a mahogany bookcase and two reproduction filing cabinets.
"I was asked if I could deliver these items to their South London studio within a week,” says owner of Essex Interiors, Christopher Court. "Our Regency style reproduction furniture is a very popular line, so immediate supply is never a problem and we always pull out the stops to meet deadlines, whoever the customer is. Within the week I’d personally delivered everything they needed.”
