With the retirement of its longtime group business manager Roy Beagent set for May, UK buying group and show organiser Minerva Furniture Group has appointed ex-Furniture Village buyer Jim Orr as chief executive.
Jim, who worked as Furniture Village's head of buying from 2016 until last summer – following roles with Achica (World Stores) and Dreams before that – will start this month.
Based in Corsham, Wiltshire, Minerva has operated since 1990, and counts many of the UK's leading independent retailers among its members. Minerva's Spring Furniture Show is due to return to the NAEC Stoneleigh on 16-17th May.
