Fairs support publication seeking to unearth new design talent

May Design Series and Decorex International, organised by UBM Live Built Environment, have assisted a fledgling publication that specialises in seeking out and sharing the best up-and-coming talent from the design community.

The organisers of the trade shows pledged £1000 to Fiera, the new bi-annual magazine which has been founded by Katie Treggiden, best known for her popular interiors blog Confessions of a Design Geek. The money has helped the title to get off the ground, and the first issue of the title is now due to land in November.

Editor Katie and creative director Jeremy Leslie intend to travel to numerous design festivals and exhibitions across the globe, and report back on the best emerging talent to be found at each event. By providing a platform for the industry to discover new companies and individuals, it is hoped that undiscovered designers will be given an opportunity to gain the exposure they deserve.

Suzie Ager, brand director for May Design Series, says: “UBM’s interiors portfolio will always strive to bring young and emerging talent to the forefront of the design industry and introduce inspirational products that have never been seen before, so we are delighted to be able to support this fantastic new publication. Fiera will offer vital exposure to new designers that deserve to be noticed, and I hope that our contribution will make a real difference in bringing this project to life.”
