On 23rd February, the Furniture Industry Research Association, and FIRA International, is opening its doors to both members and non-members as part of a series of open days scheduled for 2017.
The event gives delegates the opportunity to visit the testing site in Stevenage and understand more about the Research Association, and the commercial provider (FIRA International).
Starting at 09.45 the agenda includes:
- An overview of the work of the Furniture Industry Research Association and its service provider FIRA International
- Furniture testing and the FIRA Gold certification schemes
- The importance of ergonomics
- Consultancy and research services within FIRA
- Sustainability and the work of the Furniture Industry Sustainability Project (FISP)
- Furniture aftercare with FIRA’s Service Technicians department
Following a networking lunch there will be a tour of FIRA’s UKAS-accredited testing facilities and then the chance to watch a FIRA service technician repairing furniture before the day closes at 14:30.
