FIRA reschedules open day programme

UKAS-accredited testing house, FIRA International, is delaying its open day events, originally scheduled for January and February, and will instead be hosting them in March.

Howard James, testing and technical manager at FIRA International, says: “As excited as we are to showcase our new facilities, we have to put the safety of our visitors and colleagues first, and as guidance currently remains to work from home we felt the right action was to move our scheduled open day events. We’re very much hoping that by March we’ll be able to welcome old friends and new faces to our new site.”

The newly rescheduled dates are confirmed as: 1st March (AM, fully booked); 3rd March (PM); and 8th March (AM).

The open days aim to showcase FIRA International’s new UKAS-accredited facilities, where delegates will get a full tour, including seeing flammability tests in action, an overview of the structures test bay, an insight into how their experts test finishes for worktops etc, and the ergonomics laboratory. There will also be an opportunity to meet the experts and ask questions, alongside an understanding of FIRA International’s work on behalf of the Furniture Industry Research Association.

The full agenda and booking details are available here. FIRA International also confirmed that additional dates will be added throughout the year.
