FIRA's Asian testing laboratory passes audit with flying colours

The Asian furniture testing arm of FIRA, the UK furniture technology centre, has passed its annual audit with flying colours.

FIRA-CMA Testing Services Limited, based in Hong Kong, has maintained an accreditation which ensures that testing is work is carried out to the highest quality levels.

Ideally placed to meet the needs of FIRA’s customer base in the Far East, the laboratory has passed its annual independent ISO/IEC 17025 system audit, maintaining HOKLAS accreditation, an accreditation scheme operated by Hong Kong Accreditation Service (HKAS) equivalent to the UKAS accreditation held by FIRA in the UK.

During the audit no non-conformities were raised, demonstrating the attention to detail and thoroughness of the FIRA-CMA operation.

Sharon Keung, FIRA-CMA’s General Manager, says: “We are very pleased to maintain our HOKLAS accreditation, it is important for our customers to know that we can offer the highest levels of quality and testing in all we do. This, combined with the furniture expertise provided by FIRA, means that when you test your products with us you can be sure that the results are a true reflection of your product’s performance.”

FIRA-CMA offers a broad range of testing services including strength, durability and safety tests for final items, flammability and performance tests for fabrics, surface finish performance tests and toxicity tests. The laboratory can also provide inspection and risk assessment services.
