Fishpools' New Year charity pledge

Waltham Cross-based interiors specialist Fishpools has launched its Family Values project for 2014. The new initiative will see the long-established retailer aiming to raise at least £5000 for its chosen partners over the next 12 months.

After careful consideration, Fishpools has selected Broxbourne-based charity Teens Unite Fighting Cancer, and national charity Nordoff Robbins. The retailer will start by adding the first £2000 into the fund, and will launch a range of other fundraising initiatives this year. People can show their support by donating now here.

Simon Fishpool, MD of Fishpools, says: “Our Family Values programme represents our commitment to give something back to the people who live and work where we do, and we’ve joined forces with two brilliant charities to help us do just that.“

Teens Unite Fighting Cancer is dedicated to improving the lives of young people aged 13-24 with cancer and other life-limiting illnesses. The charity runs regular fun days out such as concerts, football matches, art and beauty workshops. Teens Unite provides ongoing long-term support for teens, whether they are undergoing treatment or in remission. The charity has also recently opened the first specialist respite care centre for young people aged 13-24 in the UK.

Nordoff Robbins is a specialist music charity, dedicated to transforming the lives of vulnerable children and adults across the UK. It provides over 50,000 music therapy sessions each year to help people struggling with a range of challenges including autism and other learning difficulties, dementia, mental health problems, stroke, brain injury and depression.
