Premier Birmingham lifestyle and shopping destination, the Mailbox, has announced significant growth in footfall and sales following a raft of new openings.
Sales for the last six months of 2017 were up a total of +15% YoY. With the new 20,000 sqft home furnishings offer opening last October, the Mailbox is now 95% let, while footfall on Level 1 has increased by +59% during retail hours.
Footfall across the centre for the six months to December 2017 was up by +11% compared to a decline in retail footfall nationally, and is now approaching 6 million visits per year.
Home furnishings at the Mailbox has created an appealing destination for interiors in central Birmingham, spearheaded by Made.com and Heal’s, and featuring Bo Concept, Calligaris, The Design Quarter and Wesley Barrell.
Meanwhile, Harvey Nichols has seen double-digit sales growth at the Mailbox YoY for 2017, and British bicycle manufacturer Ribble has seen trade exceed expectations in its first year.
The remainder of this year will see a number of new openings, including leading UK bespoke kitchen designer, Harvey Jones.
