Gavin Boden, sales director at fulfilment specialist Rhenus Home Delivery (UK), and regular Furniture News contributor, is taking part in a second tenpin bowling world record attempt to raise money for Macmillan Cancer Research and St Andrew's Hospice.
Together with three friends, Gavin is seeking to break another record, in addition to the one he set in 2017, when he bowled over 37,000 pins in 24 hours, raising £7000.
Alongside Chris Robinson, Georgia McLean and Gary Jeans, Gavin's new attempt is being made in memory of friend, Anthony Kyme, who lost his battle with skin cancer in 2021.
"We all play for the county, so we think we know what we're doing" laughed Gavin. "I've been bowling for over 30 years now. Our aim is to reach at least 41,000 pins in the 24 hours."
The team will attempt to set the new world record from midday on Saturday, 7th October at Go Bowling, Shipley. Gavin says he would be "really appreciative" of anyone in the area who could offer their support on the day.
He is also running a raffle, here.
