Tim Robinson, the UK and Irish agent for Hartmann, Ramaro and Gwinner, is planning to mark his 70th birthday by confronting his fear of heights and going wing-walking on 6th July.
"My brother-in-law has said over the years that I've often winged it, so I thought I'd better get on and follow his advice," says Tim, who is raising money for charities Dogs for Good and Centrepoint.
Tim started out in the furniture industry in 1976 with a furniture van delivering three-piece suites for the William Barrett group based in Bicester and Banbury.
"Over a period of time I acquired more trucks, ending up with maybe 15, and we had a good share of the upholstery delivery market," he continues.
"Until Coloroll came along in 1989 – and that was that.
"We lived in France for a while, but were still involved to a certain extent with furniture, and on our return in 1997 I became an agent.
"I've represented manufacturers from Italy, Spain, Germany, Poland and the US - most notably LeatherTrend from San Diego and Tijuana. I'm now the UK and Irish agent for German cabinet company Hartmann, Ramaro (a Polish upholstery company) and have also been tasked with representing the rejuvenated Gwinner under its new ownership."
Sponsor Tim's activity to raise money for Dogs for Good, which makes life-changing differences for people with disabilities here, and for homelessness charity Centrepoint, which helps give homeless young people a safe place to live, supporting them into education or a job, here.
