Furniture Industry Research Association and Baroness Warsi host House of Lords reception

On Friday 8th September, the Furniture Industry Research Association hosted its annual House of Lords reception.

The event serves as a platform to celebrate the furniture industry, to welcome new members of the research association, acknowledge the achievements of organisations who have recently achieved FIRA Gold certification or a FIRA Ergonomics Excellence Award, and to provide networking opportunities for the 250 guests from across the furniture industry.

Guests were also given the opportunity to have a behind the scenes tour of the Houses of Parliament as part of the reception.

Speaking on the event, Charles Vernon, chairman of the Furniture Industry Research Association, says: “For me, as chairman of the research association, the House of Lords event is a highlight in my calendar. It was great to see so many people from across our industry taking the time to come together and make our reception the success that it was.

“As well as welcoming back many familiar faces, it was also good to see new faces who have recently become part of the research association through membership. Its support like this which helps to make the research association what it is today.

“On behalf of all our guests, I would like to thank Baroness Warsi for hosting us, and following on from the success of the event I very much look forward to our 2018 reception.”
