Furniture Makers and B&Q partnership to help those in need

The Furniture Makers has announced a new partnership with B&Q Homefit. The partnership will see B&Q Homefit support The Furniture Makers' charitable work with retired people who have spent their working lives within the furnishing industry, by offering the expertise of B&Q Homefit installations and financial assistance for the elderly or infirm retirees.

Launched in May 2013, B&Q Homefit is designed to provide customers with an easy solution to addressing DIY tasks that they either can’t or shouldn’t undertake themselves, by providing access to fully qualified and vetted local tradesmen at pre-agreed fixed prices and a B&Q central point of contact to project-manage each job.

Billy Quinn, director of installations at B&Q, says: “We are delighted to be working with The Furniture Makers and support its charitable work with those that have spent their working lives in the furnishing industry. As the largest home improvement and garden centre retailer in the UK, B&Q is committed to supporting and developing our colleagues throughout their working lives, therefore helping to support ex-industry colleagues that find themselves in difficulty during retirement seemed a natural fit. We look forward to working with The Furniture Makers in helping making life better for these deserving retirees and their families”.
