Furniture Village wins management team accolade

Furniture Village, the UK’s largest privately-owned furniture retailer, has won The Thames Valley Business Magazine’s award for Management Team Of The Year, sponsored by RBS. The awards were announced on 20th November at the Royal Berkshire Conference Centre at the Madejski Stadium in Reading, and were presented by TV broadcaster Fiona Bruce and Nick Hewer, of Countdown and Apprentice fame.

The Management Team Of The Year Award is open to outstanding management teams in the Thames Valley. The award went to Furniture Village for running a highly successful business, its dedication to valuing employees and serving customers with care.

Peter Harrison, chief executive of Furniture Village, comments: "I'm particularly proud of my management team, who, during the challenging trading conditions in the past few years, have learnt to 'dance in the rain', despite the lack of umbrellas."

Robin Barnes, RBS comments: “This management team is quite simply one of the most passionate, honest and dedicated teams that you are likely to come across in business. The company has experienced one of the most challenging trading conditions in recent history. However, through their proactive, strategic and enthusiastic management, the team has weathered this storm successfully, strengthened the business, and now find themselves in an even stronger position to capitalise on the improving economic landscape.”
