Gallery’s recent focus on quality and traditional manufacturing capabilities has paid dividends. Its updated Hudson Living fusion furniture, based on classic styles, has been very well received. At the Furniture Awards, judged during the January Furniture Show, the Hudson Living Dexter Side Tables and accompanying range won the Mid-Level category, standing out from its peers.
James Hudson, business development director at Gallery Direct, was responsible with his team, along with Mat Penney’s design concept directive, for creating this simple but on design side table that offers either a parquet or faux concrete resin top. Manufactured to a high standard, the Dexter table epitomises the spirit and direction that Gallery is taking in the furniture market.
James says: “The concept behind the Dexter side tables was to create a statement piece that could enhance the feel of different room settings, using high quality materials and traditional carpentry techniques. The simplicity of the design, we feel, speaks for itself, and this was backed up by the judges’ comments that it is on trend, well-proportioned and likely to stand the test of time.”
As well as winning the Furniture Award, Gallery also took the January Furniture Show by storm with its double-decker stand plus additional space, with an array of over 1000 products on display. The extensive range of high quality new items was extremely well received by both customers and industry commentators alike.
Peter Delaney, MD, says: “The whole team put in a tremendous amount of time and effort preparing for the show, but it was all worth it. We wrote record orders and we are delighted to have won the Furniture Award 2015 Mid-Level Category for our Dexter Side Tables and accompanying range from our Hudson Living collection.”
