Following the huge success of the NBF Bed Show 2013, British mattress manufacturer and show exhibitor GNG Group Yorkshire has placed its first post-show order with machinery supplier A. Tarr Limited, which also exhibited at the show. Immediately following the show, GNG’s chairman Phillip Whittell met with Chris Tarr, MD of A. Tarr, to finalise an order for state of the art foam conversion machinery, a deal worth £300,000.
GNG Group, which has production facilities in Wakefield and Liversedge, West Yorkshire, has experienced significant growth over the last 18 months, thanks to its commitment to innovation and the development of new uses for foam. With 2014 forecasts showing further growth, along with planned business expansions, GNG saw the need to upgrade its equipment to enable them to keep up with demand in both the domestic and medical mattress markets, and saw the Bed Show as the perfect opportunity to do this.
Christopher Cowling, GNG’s group accountant says: “We always strive to live up to our strapline – Innovators in Foam Technology – and with our recent growth, this meant acquiring new machinery to meet the growing demands.”
“The NBF Bed Show was not only a fantastic opportunity to exhibit our latest product range, but it has also allowed us to expand our business in other ways, and facilitated our meeting with Chris.”
A. Tarr will be supplying GNG with some of the world’s finest equipment, including a Fecken Kirfel CNC machine and Dolphin Pack mattress rolling machine.
Chris Tarr says: “The Bed Show has garnered many enquiries already, and I am very pleased to announce the signing of the first order placed on the morning of the 26th September 2013.”
