Heal's invites Silent Opera to its Tottenham Court Road store

Heal’s Tottenham Court Road has invited Silent Opera, a London-based opera group, to take up residency in store on 21st, 22nd and 23rd October, from 7-9pm.

Silent Opera will present four opera acts within four settings inside Heal’s, mixing modern, high-quality recordings with live performance and visual spectacle. Whilst walking through different departments of the newly refurbished store, members of the audience will listen to the music individually through their headphones. The four acts will include Il Barbiere di Siviglia (performed in the Spa Room), La Traviata (performed in the Designer Room), Dido and Aeneas (performed on the Cecil Brewer staircase) and La Bohème (performed in the Sleep Studio).

Silent Opera offers the audience two options to listen to the production. With headphones on, the audience will hear the piece with its full orchestration, pre-recorded. With headphones off, they will simply hear live singing and instrumental. A personal and interactive experience, Silent Opera also offers the audience the opportunity to wander the scenes without losing a note, breath or word. Not only does Silent Opera bring masterpieces to life in a vivid and real sense, it also takes traditional opera to a contemporary setting with intimacy and scale.

Having recently undergone a major transformation in-store, Heal’s Tottenham Court Road provides the perfect backdrop to showcase this modern and avant-garde approach to traditional opera music. The store now features new departments, exclusive new products, designer collaborations and a striking 64-arm Bocci chandelier, which is central to the iconic Cecil Brewer staircase (where Dido and Aeneas will be performed).

Tickets cost £10 per person, inclusing champagne and canapes. Follow the links to book tickets for Monday, Tuesday and Wednesday.
