Heal's to move from King's Road to Westbourne Grove

Heal’s has been designing, making and selling quality furniture since 1810. As part of its commitment to trading for centuries to come, Heal’s has embarked on a new customer journey programme to ensure it provides the best online and in-store experience possible.

As part of this programme, Heal’s is developing a specialist showroom strategy which will commence in this spring and see the move of Heal’s King’s Road store to a new West London location. The new showroom – located at The Queens Building, Westbourne Grove W2 – will launch in the summer. Formerly an art deco cinema, Queens has been transformed by Derwent London into a new retail showroom and apartment building. The Heal’s King’s Road store will close this month, and Heal’s will continue to trade in Tottenham Court Road, Kingston, Guildford, Brighton and Redbrick Mill.

In addition to this, Heal’s is investing in a new state-of-the-art website launching in April. Together with a relaunched website, Heal’s Tottenham Court Road flagship store – in the heart of central London - will continue to serve its customers while progressing with further in-store refurbishments. Recent improvements to the store include the introduction of its Designer Floor on level two which is now home to seven international brands, including Cassina, Ligne Roset, Vitra, Riva and Philippe Starck’s new collection, TOG, which is exclusive to Heal’s.

Will Hobhouse, chair of Heal’s, says: “We are two years into a programme of change to ensure Heal’s remains at the forefront of British design, and more importantly, to put the customer at the centre of all we do. Shopping habits have changed beyond recognition in the past ten years and we needed to respond to the new consumer digital age and how customers research and shop. Service, whether online or in-store, is paramount and we know that the changes we are making will ensure we’re at the top of our game. Our design advisors and store staff at King’s Road will be absorbed into the business wherever possible.”

Simon Silver, director at Derwent London, comments: “We are delighted to welcome Heal’s to Queens – a great fit for this classic building as well as to the area. Queens is a local landmark which has been elegantly remodelled by award-winning architects Stiff + Trevillion. The building now provides a retail showroom and 16 individually designed apartments and is well-positioned for Crossrail when it arrives in 2018.”
