Midlands-based manufacturer and retailer Hereford Furniture will make its TV debut this Thursday on BBC2 in a one-hour dedicated documentary-style programme.
The family-owned furniture company, which has stores in Kidderminster, Hereford and Sutton Coldfield and employs over 40 locals, is the focus of the first episode of a new BBC2 series, Digby Jones: The New Troubleshooter.
Focused on helping secure the future of medium-sized businesses, the programme is fronted by Birmingham-born Digby, whose working class rise through the ranks to the House of Lords has secured his status as a passionate champion for British manufacturing.
Hereford Furniture has been working with the BBC since autumn 2013, granting Digby and the crew access all areas. Filming focused on the company’s manufacturing processes, with manufacturing experts brought in to help. The team also visited Emma Bridgewater’s Stoke on Trent factory for design and marketing inspiration, which has led the company in an interesting new direction.
