Peter Green Furnishers, a large single-store independent located in Chandlers Ford, Southampton, is facing liquidation.
The retailer ceased trading last Friday (24th May), despite various attempts to sell the business as a going concern, says Allan Cadman, a licenced insolvency practitioner with Xeinadin Corporate Recovery, who has been instructed by the directors to assist with the liquidation process.
"Peter Green had no option but to cease trading due to insolvency," he told Furniture News. "Staff who have regrettably been made redundant have been informed and advised on their rights and entitlements in person.
"We are also handling queries from customers and gathering information. Creditors will be notified formally very soon."
The retailer, which handles both domestic and commercial business, has served customers in the south of England for over 60 years.
