Brintons, with its rich heritage and support of new talent, has revealed Lindsey Lang as the winner of the Homes & Gardens Young Designer Award. The award, sponsored by Brintons, was revealed at the awards ceremony held at the British Museum.
Trained as a fine artist and inspired by her experience in colour theory, graphic design and illustration, Lindsey Lang specialises in kitchenware and interior accessories. Her aim is to create high-quality functional products that are truly original works of art for the home.
"We particularly liked the artisan feel of Lindsey’s products. Her tiles for example, combine crisp, modern colours with a traditional manufacturing process that Lindsey has helped to revive. It is that attention to detail, that focus on producing the best quality you can that we admired," said Don Coates, MD, Brintons Carpets Ltd.
Speaking after the awards ceremony last night, Don also commented: "We were thrilled to sponsor this year’s Young Designer category. Fresh ideas and insights, coupled with new innovations in technology are essential for our design led industry. We work with universities and art colleges around the world offering graduate placements and an apprenticeship scheme as we are passionate about playing our part in nurturing young talent."
