House of Fraser launches early morning delivery

As part of its expanding multi-channel business, House of Fraser has launched an early morning delivery to enable customers to receive online orders before they leave for work.

House of Fraser will initially launch the early morning delivery with a 7pm order cut-off, rising to 8pm shortly after, allowing any orders made online to be delivered before 9am the ‘Next Day’ or on any ‘Future Day of Choice’, Monday to Saturday inclusive. The fee for this service will be paid by the customer, and will cost £8. The new delivery option is for UK mainland customers only, and is not applicable for oversized products.

With a guaranteed two-hour delivery window, this service is one of the first to offer a flexible delivery solution based around standard working hours. The early morning delivery is available online, mobile and at the Order in Store terminals.

The department store group has continued to develop its multi-channel business to ensure it delivers some of the best customer service in the market. Since the launch of its Buy & Collect proposition in 2010, the department store has continued to adapt to changing shopping habits and customer demands, and also offers services such as a nationwide Next Evening delivery, which allows customers to order online up to midnight for home delivery the following evening, seven days a week.

Andy Harding, executive director for multi-channel at House of Fraser, says: “We believe this is a first in the industry, and we are proud to launch this service for our customers, who keep telling us home delivery is not convenient, because most people have to take time off work to receive parcels at home. We listened to customer feedback which suggested a need for a more flexible delivery fulfilment based around standard working hours and launched the pre-9am delivery.”
