Multi award-winning British bed manufacturer and Royal Warrant holder, Hypnos, has been awarded Bed Manufacturer of the Year for the third time at the NBF Bed Show, for its outstanding performance over the past year.
The luxury bed maker received the accolade for its inspirational and exceptional products and business model. A panel of judges praised the company for its outstanding domestic and international growth in the hospitality and retail sectors, securing Approved Supplier status with six international hotel chains, as well as appointing new distributors and agents in Spain, Benelux, South Africa and Germany. Judges were also impressed by the company’s impressive sustainable practices and CSR credentials, as well as its commitment to creating innovative, stylish and comfortable products for the retail and hospitality sector. The highly sought-after awards, now in its seventh year, recognise the excellent work of bed manufacturers, raw material suppliers and retailers.
To add to the celebrations, the event also gave the family-run business the opportunity to pay homage to its chairman, Peter Keen, who has been with the company for 50 years. An active participant in the bed industry, Peter has also been Master of the Worshipful Company of Furniture Makers and President of the National Bed Federation. Having secured Hypnos’s first retailer in 1988, he has helped expand its retail and contract divisions into the successful multi-million pound global brand it is today.
To mark his contribution to the business, the bedmaker featured a commemorative bed with a unique, specially screen-printed headboard by London fabric designers Insley and Nash, and an exclusive tick from Maes, the Belgian mattress fabric manufacturers. A celebratory book was also on the stand for Peter’s colleagues, friends and suppliers to note down messages and memories of his time in the industry.

Hypnos brought the art of luxury bed making to the NBF Bed Show, launching its improved edition of the Orthos Support collection, and a selection of design options including new fabrics and headboards.
