Hypnos laments passing of sales manager

Hypnos has shared the passing of Barry Owen-Smith, London area sales manager of the bedmaker's contract division, on Sunday 26th November.

"His strength, resilience, and kindness touched the lives of all who had the privilege of knowing him," states Hypnos.

"Barry’s journey was one of incredible bravery, battling against Idiopathic Pulmonary Fibrosis (IPF), diagnosed in January 2022, following Covid in November 2021. His story is one of determination and selflessness.

"Before his diagnosis, his biking events raised valuable funds for Hospitality Action. Barry’s determination to do good did not waver following his diagnoses, as he embarked on a remarkable journey, walking 1000km and cycling 5000km while relying on oxygen, to raise nearly £4000 for Action for Pulmonary Fibrosis.

"Barry’s commitment to making a positive impact extended far beyond his own challenges, as his legacy is not only measured in miles walked or funds raised but in the immeasurable kindness he bestowed upon others. His generosity and genuine concern for those around him will resonate for years to come. May his legacy continue to inspire acts of kindness and resilience in us all."

Hypnos Contract Beds has set up a Just Giving page for Action For Pulmonary Fibrosis, to continue Barry’s charitable legacy.
