The Irish Furniture & Homewares Show (IFHS) marked a significant milestone this year, celebrating its 10th anniversary with an awards night that brought together some of the brightest talents and leaders of the Irish furniture and homewares industry.
The event, held on the evening of August 25th, was a testament to a decade of innovation, collaboration and growth that has elevated the Irish furniture sector to new heights, says event organiser Mark Gannon, who reflected on the journey that began 10 years ago during the presentation.
“It’s a true pleasure to welcome you all to our annual show awards night, and what makes this evening even more special is the milestone we’re celebrating," he said. "This year, the Irish Furniture & Homewares Show marks its 10th anniversary – a decade of showcasing the very best of our industry, building a community that supports and elevates the Irish furniture industry,” said Mark Gannon.
This year’s awards were judged and announced by Amanda Bone, an esteemed architect, educator and broadcaster, widely known as a presenter on RTÉ Television programme Home of the Year. "Amanda’s presence as head judge has greatly enhanced the awards' significance, solidifying their status as a platform that recognises the enormous efforts made by exhibitors," says Mark. "Her dedication to promoting excellence in the furniture and homewares sector aligns perfectly with the Irish Furniture and Homewares Show’s commitment to showcasing the very best in the industry.
"The awards presented during the night highlighted the outstanding achievements of exhibitors and professionals who have set new benchmarks in the industry."
The winners included: Best New European Product – Cofra for its innovative Table 02; Best New Global Product – Sealy for its cutting-edge Mattress; Best Sustainable Initiative – Think Rugs, recognised for its commitment to sustainability; Best Overall Exhibition Display – Scatter Box for its exceptional showcase;
Retailers' Choice, Sales Rep of the Year – Terry McKeon from Annaghmore Agencies, honoured for his outstanding service and dedication; Retailers' Choice, Best Supplier: Annaghmore Agencies, recognised for excellence in supply and partnership.
The night also featured a special recognition ceremony for long-time exhibitors who have been instrumental in the show’s success. These companies have consistently supported the IFHS and have been part of every event since its inception – Brennans Furniture, Annaghmore Agencies, Buoyant Upholstery, Honey B, Gannon’s Furniture, Image Furnishings, Gleneagle, and GIE.
“These exhibitors have been with us from the beginning, and their commitment to the Irish furniture industry has been a cornerstone of our success,” says Mark. “Their partnership and dedication have helped us create a platform that unites, inspires, and drives the industry forward.”
The 10th anniversary awards night was not only a celebration of past achievements, but a look to the future, adds Mark: "As the show continues to grow, the commitment to innovation, sustainability and excellence remains at the forefront."
The evening concluded with a toast to the next decade of success, collaboration and inspiration within the Irish furniture industry.
