Italian and international designers will have the opportunity to express their creativity in the recently-launched SIT DOWN! competition founded by Istituto Marangoni and Cappellini. A call for ideas for product design, industrial design, interior design or architecture graduates and for design professionals with relevant experience in the field has now been made.
SIT DOWN! invites all participants to propose a new and contemporary type of seat marked by formal innovation, functionality and comfort, and to combine the Oriental tradition with the Western one.
By 19th June 2015 designers will have to sign up and upload their projects on the “80 chances to be the one” Istituto Marangoni platform. All the works will be judged by a prestigious jury composed of famous Italian and International designers as well as representatives of Istituto Marangoni – Giulio Cappellini, architect, designer and art director of Cappellini; Piero Lissoni, architect and designer; Silvana Annichiarico, director of the Triennale Design Museum; Emanuele Farneti, director of AD; Sam Baron, designer and director of Design Fabrica; Massimo Zanatta, school director of Istituto Marangoni School of Design and Cristina Morozzi, director of Education of Istituto Marangoni School of Design.
The jury will determine the winner, who will be awarded a scholarship offered by Cappellini to attend the Master in Italian Product Design starting in October 2015 at Istituto Marangoni School of Design in Milan.
A not-to-be-missed opportunity, this is a challenging training experience at Istituto Marangoni School of Design located in via Cerva, in an area of the city centre that hosts the most well-known national and international design signatures.
The SIT DOWN! contest is part of a wider set of events aimed at celebrating talent, thanks to which Istituto Marangoni - which will celebrate its 80th anniversary this year - will grant as many scholarships to give young international talents the chance to make their dreams come true and be trained in a program of excellence.
