Author, journalist and news broadcaster Jeremy Vine will host the fifth NBF gala dinner and awards ceremony, which takes place on the night of 23rd September at Telford International Centre, during the Bed Show.
Jeremy established his reputation as a smooth-talking but tough presenter on Newsnight. He now presents the lunchtime show on Radio 2, hosts cult quiz TV show Eggheads and pops up with a range of graphic wizardry whenever there is an election.
Jeremy has picked up a Sony Award for Speech Broadcaster of the Year. In his after-dinner speech, he will reveal how news really gets to the screens. He might also mention what happened when Mandelson screamed at him, or how an assassination attempt went completely unnoticed by a reporter at the scene.
At this year’s NBF gala dinner Jeremy will be welcoming and entertaining guests, and also presenting this year’s NBF industry awards, which focus on the industry’s best-performing companies, as voted for by a selected panel of judges (including Furniture News' editor, Paul Farley) – for Bed Manufacturer, Bed Supplier, Independent Bed Retailer, Multiple Bed Retailer and Bed E-tailer of the Year.
The evening will also include some fun and games aimed at raising funds in aid of industry charity, The Furniture Makers’ Company.
