John Lewis reports that its clearance ended with a strong week's trade across all the retailer's directorates, with sales closing up 10.2% on last year.
Home sales closed at 14.8% up on the year, with many areas enjoying double-digit increases on the year. John Lewis saw substantial growth in Furniture, which was up 17.4%, driven by Fitted Furniture at 46.5% up and Living & Dining up 26.6%.
Shop performance was strong, with 36 branches up on last year led by Poole up 26.8%, Southampton up 23.8% and Liverpool up 21.9%. Online sales were up 16.6% on the year, with strong performance from all directorates.
