Scandinavian retailer Jysk plans to open its first store in Singapore shortly, with plans to open 20 stores in the country over the next five years. The Singapore store will take the number of countries Jysk is operating in to 38.
Jysk in Singapore will operate through a franchise agreement between Jysk and Courts, a leading retailer in South-east Asia. The agreement with Jysk will enable Courts to develop its home furnishings offering.
"Courts is Singapore's largest retail company and has 40 years' experience in the country," comments Jonas Schrøder, Jysk's communications director. "We are sure that Jysk's strengths, with great offers and a Scandinavian-inspired selection, is a great match for Courts."
The first Jysk store in Singapore will be around 1000 sqm in size.
