Leekes launches Cross Hands refurb sale

Family-owned home department store Leekes opened the doors of its Cross Hands, Carmarthenshire store yesterday morning, starting a £5m refurbishment sale.

The sale, which started with an invitation-only event for previous customers, opened to the general public today.

MD Emma Leeke says: “We were delighted to welcome many of our previous customers back to the store to enjoy our private sale on Thursday. We are so grateful for their support over the very many years we have been in Cross Hands and wanted to reward them with the opportunity of having the first chance to select from our refurbishment sale offers. We were pleased to see so many of them taking advantage of our biggest sale savings and also snap up some of the great prices on ex-display furniture, bathrooms, flooring, kitchen appliances and conservatories as well as across our clothing, bedding, lighting, cookware and home accessories ranges.”

Leekes' Cross Hands store will begin its refurbishment in September, which will include the introduction of new branded furniture studios including G Plan Upholstery, ercol furniture, Stressless and Alexander & James, as well as a new specialist Sleep Zone.

Charles Larsen, store manager, says: "We are eagerly anticipating our store refurbishment this autumn. Since opening in Cross Hands almost 40 years ago, Leekes have built an unrivalled reputation with our inspirational displays and excellent levels of customer service, and our ongoing investment in our store will ensure we continue to retain this."
