As emerchants across the UK gear up for the busiest time of the year, Lengow, a European leader in feed management, is offering the opportunity to learn about future e-commerce trends and developments at the Lengow Ecommerce Day, which will take place between 9am and 2pm on 6th November at Burlington House in Piccadilly, London.
Following IMRG’s announcement this week that almost half (47%) of Christmas customers will order their gifts online with less than a week to go, the pressure is on for emerchants to provide a slick, hassle-free online customer experience.
The group’s eCustomerServiceIndex, in partnership with eDigitalResearch, found that one in five of these last-minute orders were not delivered in time. Worryingly, 41% of these late deliveries were blamed on retailers. It has also been revealed this morning that 26% of Which? customers have suffered delivery issues, and many are unsatisfied with their online shopping experience, indicating that the burden on emerchants continues to increase.
“We all know that online sales are more important than ever, especially coming up to the festive season,” comments Mickael Froger, CEO of Lengow. “Online shopping accounts for more than 20% of all retail sales, and last Christmas alone, UK retailers saw massive increases in the number of consumers buying gifts online.”
Studies at the start of this year also revealed that online sales on the 24th, 25th and 26th of December 2013 broke retail records – with many purchases being made on mobile phones and tablets.
Mickael continues: “At the Lengow Ecommerce Day, we want to prepare emerchants for the future. We will have expert speakers sharing their insights throughout the morning and we hope that emerchants will leave with a better understanding of this fast-changing industry, as well as a host of new contacts to boost their e-commerce future.
“The Lengow Ecommerce Day will ensure that online retailers can learn about the opportunities and developments available to them, letting them provide a seamless customer experience while improving their overall performance.”
As well as a networking cocktail lunch for attendees, the event will feature roundtable discussions on cross-border ecommerce, alternative distribution channels, and personalisation in ecommerce.
“Emerchants can attend the Lengow Ecommerce Day for free,” continues Mickael. “This is a fantastic opportunity to learn about current trends and discover how they are expected to change in the future. It also gives emerchants the chance to pick the brains of leading experts and learn how they can take advantage of the retail industry’s digital revolution.”
As well as Mickael, speakers on the day will include Steve Borges, founder of Biglight, and Jason Brankin, global head of e-commerce at World First. There will also be contributions from other major e-commerce players, including IMRG, Avalara, Bazaarvoice, Peerius, Nextag, iAdvize, Stylight and Practicology. All information on sessions can be found on the event’s website, and e-tailers can register for free at Eventbrite.
