Litmus Furniture, sole agent for Wiemann and Gamamobel brands in the UK and Ireland, has made two new sales appointments.
James Gledhill takes over the Yorkshire and North East area. James has previously worked with retailers John Peters, Barker & Stonehouse and Christopher Pratt. His father, Stephen Gledhill, has been a furniture agent for the past 35 years, so, says James: “I have grown up heavily influenced and inspired by the trade.” He adds: “I am delighted to be joining the Litmus team. Wiemann and Gamamobel are two fantastic brands and I look forward to developing and growing the Yorkshire and North East area."
James takes over the area from Peter Baker, who is retiring after 11 years with Litmus. Peter has spent more 30 years in the trade, on and off, selling both in retail and to retailers, but has decided the time has come to return full time to his (other) passion of wildlife photography.
Meanwhile, Stuart McDonnell has joined the team to look after the South East, South and London south of the Thames, taking over from Litmus director Simon Hewitt, who will be concentrating more fully on developing the future strategic direction of Litmus.
Says Stuart: “During 15 years helping develop and sell furniture in the UK, I have seen many factories both in Europe and the Far East and I must say that the Wiemann factory is by far the best I have been to. They have a great name in the furniture industry and a great range of products to offer and I am very much looking forward to working with Wiemann, Gamamobel and the Litmus team to further develop this area.”
Simon Hewitt, Litmus Furniture director, says of the appointments: “We’re certain we have got two really good guys to represent us in the north and south of the country. We have big ambitions for the future of Litmus Furniture as well as for these two great brands, Wiemann and Gamamobel. Stuart and James come with bags of enthusiasm and energy to help us move forward.”
