LOFA makes charity donations

The council of the Leisure & Outdoor Furniture Association (LOFA), the body responsible for staging the Solex exhibition each summer, has made a number of charity donations.

£5000 was donated to the new Greenfingers Essex Garden. Greenfingers- a charity which creates gardens for children's hospices - launched its Rosy Cheeks Appeal to fund the build of at least 10 new children's hospice gardens over the next two years.

The LOFA council also donated £5000 to Meningitis Now. Andrew Brown, partnerships manager of Meningitis Now, wrote to thank everyone at LOFA for the donation: "This is very much appreciated by everyone and will make a real difference to the fight against meningitis in the UK, by helping to save lives and rebuild futures. One of our key areas of work is raising awareness of meningitis, its symptoms and its impact. We undertake this with the general public, other organisations and with health professionals. By raising awareness we hope that when meningitis is suspected there is a faster response by individuals and a faster diagnosis by professionals. We rely entirely on voluntary donations to undertake this work. Your support is therefore vital and by helping us raise awareness, you are helping to saves lives and to reduce the long-term impact of the disease."

Finally, LOFA donated £2000 to Madley Environmental Study Centre (MESC), a charity providing environmental education activities for people of all ages and abilities on our a nature reserve in Herefordshire.
