On World Sleep Day (19th March), sleep and comfort brand Mammoth celebrated the extension of its partnership with the British Athletes Commission (BAC).
Mammoth has been an official partner of the BAC since 2012, providing guidance on sleep and exclusive member benefits on its mattresses and pillows to all UK Sport-funded athletes. The link-up has been extended for an additional year, with the two organisations set to explore further opportunities to widen the suite of benefits for members.
Sarah Newton, BAC COO, explains: “We’re pleased to extend this longstanding partnership with Mammoth, and once again give our members access to their products and their expertise. Mammoth has strong links within the sporting sector, and has built its reputation on using the latest technological advances to produce products which can truly assist athletes in terms of performance and general wellbeing. We are determined to ensure that the BAC provides a comprehensive and rounded service to our membership, and collaborations such as this help us to do that.”
Mammoth Founder and CEO, John Tuton, says: “We have worked closely with the BAC for many years and are delighted to be continuing our relationship. With the pressure to perform and stay at the top of their game, it’s vital that athletes enjoy the very best sleep, rest and recovery, and that’s one of the things we’re passionate about here at Mammoth. We are proud to have played a small part in the success of many athletes, who have invested in our leading health mattresses and gone on to win World, Olympic and Paralympic medals.
“If anything, the Covid-19 pandemic has brought the importance of health and wellbeing to the fore more than ever. As advocates for better sleep to support mental and physical health, we are thrilled that the BAC continues to champion its vital role and raise awareness to its members.”
To celebrate the partnership renewal, the two organisations are hosting a webinar in which Britain’s elite athletes will be able to put their questions on sleep science to Mammoth ambassador, Dr Nicola Barclay, who is a renowned lecturer in sleep medicine at the University of Oxford.
